This week Manchester United unveiled plans to launch a proprietary digital property that will serve as both a social network and media outlet. When it came to figuring out who was right for the task, the Red Devils went with an agency familiar with fanatics, SapientNitro. If you’re not familiar, they happen to be the agency that fulfilled every “sneakerhead’s” dream by producing Foot Locker’s Sneakerpedia.

A few weeks ago, I was presented with the opportunity to attend the Republican presidential debate in Las Vegas as a guest of CNN. To be honest when I first saw the invitation, I thought someone must be playing a joke on me — you want to send this uber liberal NYC girl to hang out with a bunch of Republicans in Las Vegas? Then I realized that this was an amazing opportunity to see the American political process up close and behind the scenes.

The NBA may not be in session, but that isn’t stopping brands from leveraging its players.  NIKE is going above and beyond leading into what would’ve been the NBA’s opening night Tuesday.  Airing commercials during NFL games highlighting the game and the players’ love for it. And of course, launching products for their star players.
