By now, of course, you have seen ESCAPE FIRE: The Fight to Rescue American Healthcare, along with all of your friends and family, isn’t that right?
Director Matt Heineman and Executive Producer Doug Scott recently spoke to SHOOT Online. Matt discussed what inspired him to direct the powerful documentary and his hopes of what this film can accomplish. As Matt puts it: “The hope is that our film can change how our country views health and healing. At a time when healthcare has become so highly politicized, we want to change the conversation about healthcare in a nonpartisan way. The film comes out at a time when our healthcare system is at a critical juncture. This is one of the pressing issues facing America today. The timing of the film’s release couldn’t be better.”
From ESCAPE FIRE’s creation to its premiere at Sundance to its nationwide theatrical release, the Shoot Online article enlightens readers with an account of the film’s development. The article also highlights the role of Aisle C Productions and its relationship to OgilvyEntertainment, which as you know specializes in both branded and non-branded original entertainment. SHOOT Online explains OgilvyEntertainment President Doug Scott’s motivation for creating the film and the role that he feels advertising agencies should play in both branded and non-branded storytelling. As the article explains, advertising agencies like Ogilvy & Mather invest so much in their people and resources that “OgilvyEntertainment felt the need to extend that talent into new business opportunities and projects that are for the greater good of society, centered on cultural truths, something happening in the world around us where there’s a story to tell.”
With positive reviews still pouring in, ESCAPE FIRE is an absolute must-see. If you haven’t had a chance to check it out in theaters…what are you waiting for?!
